Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Mass Properties Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Dynetics has been selected by NASA to participate in the development and demonstration of a Human Landing System (HLS). Dynetics is seeking project engineers, systems engineers, mechanical design engineers, electrical engineers, structural and thermal analysts, manufacturing engineers, test engineers, technicians, and operators to join a diverse team in support of the development of the HLS that will carry the first woman and next man to the Moon by 2024.

The Mass Properties Engineer will lead mass control efforts across the design teams, define mass allocations and manage MGA assignment for designs, manage reporting of mass status and R&O burn down across the team and to management, generate mass properties and create reports using CAD and other software tools, work with customers to determine mass property needs, andcoordinate with teams across the program. The candidate will also lead in the development of mass properties reports, control plans, execution plans, TPMs, Risks, and other masscontrol and mass property related actions for SE&I.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidate must have at least 10 years of direct experience as detailed above.

Candidate must have a well-founded understanding of statistics, mass properties, statistics, and system engineering.

Candidate must demonstrated experience in modeling mass properties over various mission phases of flight.

The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who have knowledge of one or more scientific or engineering programming languages such as MatLAB, Octave, Simulink, Python, FORTRAN, C, C++, or Java.

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Preferred candidates will also have a passion for KSP

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
