Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a section manager for the Mechanical Packaging Section in the Ground Vehicle Systems Design Branch.
With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, tactical logistics, scientific and IT solutions.
Dynetics is involved in multiple contracts to provide packaging solutions for a wide variety of systems. Systems include ground vehicles for high energy weapons, launchers, and target surrogates for a number of DoD customers. The position will manage a team of designers and engineers that provide requirements definition, design, assembly and test of products. The individual is expected to have a command of Mil-Std-31000 TDP requirements, GD&T as well as a background of either doing the analysis required or leading skilled individuals to complete analysis required to verify that requirements are satisfied.
Excellent communication skills are required. Individual must be self-motivated to do excellent work that exceeds customer expectations. Candidate must present a professional demeanor at all times while representing Dynetics to customers and stakeholders.
-This position will require at least a BS in Engineering.
-Candidates must have a strong technical background in aerospace/DOD hardware programs with at least 6 years of experience, in requirements definition, design, development and test of hardware systems.
-The candidate must have experience in Project/Program Management of hardware design teams to include developing integrated master schedules, and planning required to execute small to medium sized programs.
-Must have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
-A background in DoD programs is required.
-Candidates must have good organizational skills and attention to detail, and work well in a team environment.
-Candidate must be willing to travel as needed to locations across the U.S.
-Candidates must be US citizens and residents of the Huntsville area (or willing to relocate).
Experience and demonstrated skill in any of the following areas is also a plus:
•Project or people management
•Proposal writing or business development
•Project estimating
•Understanding of Systems Engineering processes
•Test planning
•CONOP development for assembly, integration and testing of hardware
•CAD/EPDM experience
•Launcher/LRU design/analysis experience
Past launcher experience and LRU packaging experience is a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
