Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a talented Material Planner to support the Strategic Programs Division. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis, implementation, and execution of material planning, material purchasing, production planning, inventory control, storage, and shipping/receiving functions for material and piece part components for the Strategic Programs Division. This position will analyze the needs of internal and external customers and will develop strategies to improve efficiency and coordinate supply and demand across multiple programs. This position will balance multiple activities including but not limited to:

  • Analyze program material requirements with a focus on direct program requirement needs, engineering or design changes, assembly demands, substitute parts or materials, and production set-ups
  • Oversee and systematically plan material requirements to meet program schedules and production demands
  • Maintain and control inventory
  • Compile production schedules, inventory reports, status reports, and customer information
  • Attend weekly Program and Operations meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

In addition to the specific activities listed above, this role will also have the opportunity to participate in plan and process improvement boards to assist the strategy and implementation of best practices for the Strategic Programs Division.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above. 

Working Knowledge of raw materials, hardware, and finishing procedures used to produce components and assemblies for hardware with 3-5 years’ experience in production and material control using Resource Planning Systems (ERP/MRP).

  • Must be capable of understanding Bills of Materials and work instructions
  • Good computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and MS Project
  • Strong communication skills, customer service, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team environment
  • Hands-on experience developing, documenting and reporting manufacturing operations

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Must be capable of working independently in a fast paced, prototype and production environment

  • Preferred experienced in using ERP software for manufacturing requirements planning, work center scheduling and reporting the status of work in process for machined and fabricated components and mechanical assemblies
  • Familiarity with AS9100 processes and procedures.

Security Requirements

Must be able to maintain a Final Secret Clearance along with meeting and maintaining program security eligibility.
