Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Systems Engineer. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. This team member will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office Systems Engineering Team to develop and utilize models and simulations of networked radars, weapons, radio communications systems, and battle management systems in a classified computer laboratory environment. The simulation data will be used for performance analysis and comparison to system requirements. The position will require utilization of programming skills to perform performance evaluation and optimization of existing requirements and algorithms in the tactical, net-centric air and missile defense environment. The position will include management of distributed simulation runs and the development of a post-processing/data-reduction software toolset. The position may include prototyping changes to improve system performance and supporting final verification and validation of system performance.
· A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, science, or mathematics is required. Preferred majors are Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science.
· A minimum of 5 years DoD experience in missile defense.
· Experience in air defense radars, networks, and performance analysis.
· Experience with complex simulations.
· Experience with Linux.
· Experience being a team player in a small team environment.
An additional plus is knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS and an understanding of fundamental radar concepts and architectures. Experience with C++, Python and Java a plus. The ability to “move out” and champion your ideas, architectures, designs, algorithms; enthusiasm; independent critical thinking; and a team attitude are very important. Please note, as part of this government team you will be the design agent for IFMC: the prime contractor develops the code based upon YOUR government provided architectures, interfaces, designs, algorithms, and guidance.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
