Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Producibility and Manufacturing Engineer to join a diverse team to delivery Air & Missile Defense weapon systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Producibility and Manufacturing Engineer will design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the weapon system team. Successful candidates will apply engineering skills to reduce cycle time and customer lead time, improve productivity, and reduce material cost. Dynetics implements a large supplier network and engineers will integrate Major End Items (MEI) and also help resolve MEI supplier issues before they negatively impact production. The selected candidate will be expected to support all program phases from process development, transition to production, and production support. This position will require interaction with senior leaders on significant technical and supplier matters often requiring coordination between organizations with some travel required. 

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Experience in integration of complex assemblies consisting of multiple subassemblies
  • Manufacturing Process and Procedure Development and Maintenance experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessments with detailed knowledge of the MRL Deskbook criteria
  • Experience selecting and monitoring critical processes

Other Qualifications

  • Experience in DFMA principles
  • Process familiarity with Paint, Plating, Chromate / Chemical Conversions
  • Familiarity with manufacturing of electronic systems
  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and 
  • Experience with related military and industry standards and specifications, product sampling guidelines, disposition of non-conforming materials, and root cause and corrective action analysis
  • Willing to evaluate and challenge existing manufacturing practices and review improvements to processes and procedures across the program

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
