Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Software Engineer will join a team that is designing, testing, and integrating software for a wide variety of applications and systems including manned space flight, missile defense, UAV detection & classification, and autonomous aerial combat. The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver products that will make a difference in the world today.
The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be a motivated independent learner.
The candidate must be highly organized with a strong technical background.
-Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
-Candidate must have 5 to 10 years of experience working within a highly technical software development project-oriented environment.
-Candidate must have experience in analyzing and developing requirements, designing and maintaining software products, and implementing software designs. Applies expertise to all areas of software development.
-Candidate must have experience providing technical guidance to software development team members.
-Candidate must possess ability to determine technical direction and strategy for solving complex, significant or major issues.
-Candidate must have experience conducting design and peer reviews and technical meetings.
-Candidate must demonstrate strong competency in software development in one or more of the following languages:
-C/C++, C#, or Java and possess an aptitude for good software design techniques.
-Candidate must demonstrate strong competency in networking topics such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, switching, routing, and network virtualization.
-Candidate must be able to develop and operate effectively in a Linux environment. This includes familiarity with operating system concepts such as thread management, scheduling and concurrency as well as a general understanding of memory management, inter-process communication (e.g. sockets), I/O management (e.g. device drivers) and virtualization.
-Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively collaborating within a team environment.
-Candidate must possess strong ability to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadline and budget guidelines.
-Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
