Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Senior Electronic System Architect to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware-based solutions. The system architect is a key solution-thinker responsible for assessing the feasibility of new opportunities and developing novel approaches that meet challenging technical requirements. With a product focus, the system architect will actively partner with other engineers, project/proposal managers, technicians, and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. The individual selected for this position will be a self-motivated design engineer proficient in high-level solution definition and detailed implementation that is comfortable with moving between those roles. The individual must be able to work effectively independently or as part of an inter-disciplinary team at any point in the product lifecycle. The system architect will design and develop electronic solutions for a diverse range of aerospace and military applications including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems.
The system architect will develop product concepts from internal/external customer requirements and produce system definitions and proposals to present those concepts. The system architect will contribute to engineering development throughout the product lifecycle including detailed development, manufacturing, validation, and customer support, as required. The system architect will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and testing electronic systems including RF, optics, power, mixed-signal, FPGA, and microcontroller-based designs. The system architect will be responsible for product/system integration test planning, setup, and execution, as required. Experience with technical trade studies, architecture definition and electronic system design is required. Solution-oriented troubleshooting skills from board level to system level are required. RF system design experience and manned/unmanned ground vehicle systems experience are strongly desired. Additional skills such as power distribution network design, VHDL proficiency, and use of applicable simulation tools are a plus.
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA
