Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking an Air and Missile Defense System Security Engineer. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The candidate hired will work as a member of the Army Project Office (PO) Systems Engineering Team to develop a holistic threat vulnerability risk assessment (TVRA) of the Integrated Fires Mission Command System of Systems (SoS), develop a detailed SSE roadmap of engineering changes to the SoS, fill the gap between engineering development and cyber assessment and accreditation activities, and keep abreast of emerging cyber issues and implementations. The SSE will develop architectures, interfaces, and designs in support of the SSE roadmap. The SSE will be a source of knowledge and guidance to the Agile software development teams. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on recommended courses of action, trade studies, architecture/interface/design changes, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission. The position in NOT one of RMF certification/testing or CVPA/AA execution.
-The candidate must have a detailed understanding of: information assurance concepts of confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation; cyber threats to DoD systems; cyber threats to AMD tactical systems; program protection and anti-tamper; and key management for geographically distributed classified DoD systems.
-The candidate must be familiar with current cryptographic techniques and implementations, Information Technology (IT), network technologies, and cloud technologies.
-The candidate must have hands on SSE architecture, interface, design, and development experience on a DoD program.
-The candidate must be able to work directly with the Agile software developers as needed.
The candidate must:
· Minimum 8570 IAT or IAM Level II Certification
· Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
· Have a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences or mathematics,
· Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above,
An additional plus is familiarity with DoD STIG requirements, NIST RMF, NSIT security controls, IAVMs, and cyber security assessment tools (e.g., ACASS, Nessus, SCC, STIG Viewer). 8570 IAT or IAM Level III Certification preferred (i.e., CISSP, CISA, CASP, GSLC, CAP, CASP, CISM). The ability to “move out” and champion your ideas, architectures, designs; enthusiasm; independent critical thinking; and a team attitude are very important. Please note, as part of this government team you will be the design agent for IFMC: the prime contractor develops the code based upon YOUR government provided architectures, interfaces, designs, and guidance.
Candidate must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
