Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc. The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Technical Data Package (TDP) Lead Engineer for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The successful candidate will serve as a Technical Data Package (TDP) Lead Engineer that will handle all aspects of mechanical and electrical TDPs for Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB) and lead a team of designers to the successful completion of the TDP. The candidate will work with the Government customer to define TDP formats and requirements as well as review existing system documents to determine scope of TDP content. The candidate will lead the TDP Team to compile electrical, mechanical and cable drawings, procedures, lists and instructions to include working with Mechanical and Electrical designers to convert, redraw and complete compliant drawings.

The candidate will resolve data gaps and derive requirements while working across functional teams to construct Technical Data Package documentation of HGB and support equipment.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Material, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have 10+ years of relevant experience.

The following skills/abilities are desired:

  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems, configuration control methods, engineering data organization, ASME and IEEE drawing standards and Military Standards
  • Experience with Creo Elements/Pro (formerly Pro/ENGINEER)
  • Technical project management experience
  • Experience with electrical schematics and cable diagrams
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of HGB equipment
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and teambuilding skill
  • Able to clearly and concisely present technical and team status to program and senior management leadership
  • Able to organize and facilitate technical supplier coordination meetings
  • Able to prepare status reports that accurately reflect status of project

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have experience with generation and control of electrical and mechanical drawings and have a current DoD Secret clearance.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
