Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented, self-motivated Junior Software Test Engineer to join a multi-discipline engineering team. This position focuses on automated testing, development of robust, innovative software test infrastructures and frameworks, integration testing, informal manual testing, formal software qualification testing, software airworthiness, fielding and support, and maintenance of software products. Software products are applied to manned aircraft, UAS, weapon systems and other military aviation applications. Software products range from analysis tools/simulations, mission planning software, and components of mission-critical systems. This test position involves direct participation as an integral team member who performs key roles with respect to test planning, test strategy and design, test execution, software engineering processes, and recommendations on product quality. This position also involves reviewing, editing, and generating various documents used for engineering and testing purposes per industry standards.
Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or software engineering and 0-5 years of prior relevant experience in software test engineering efforts.
Candidate must demonstrate basic competency in software development in the C++, Python, C#, or Java programming language.
Candidate must possess an aptitude for the technical skills required for software test, configuration management, and software quality engineering concepts.
Candidate must possess strong analytical and process improvement skills along with a personal drive for details and quality workmanship.
Candidate must demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Candidate must have good communication skills.
Candidate must be self-motivated, pay attention to details, and work well under deadlines.
Candidate must accept constructive feedback from more senior software team members.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preference will be shown to candidates experienced in developing test methods and procedures for software products using scripting and/or compiled languages.
Preference will be shown to candidates experienced in writing user interface (UI) tests with automated UI testing technologies.
Preference will be shown to candidates experienced in writing unit and integration tests with unit test frameworks.
Preference will be shown to candidates experienced with applicable industry standards (IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178B and/or DO-278, RMF) or automated testing techniques.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
