Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a DSP Algorithm Engineer to join a diverse team to create solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Foreign Weapon Systems branch goals include the characterization, analysis, testing, and ultimate defeat of all types of threat weapons systems including foreign missiles and radars. This group concentrates primarily on electrical, sensor, optical, and firmware aspects of the systems, but will engage any part of the system that advances our goals. This is hands-on work involving actual threat weapon hardware. Our team develops equipment to control and test these threats in a Hardware-in-the-Loop environment. We also specialize in the development of countermeasure concepts and equipment.
The DSP Algorithm Engineer will analyze the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) firmware and FPGA DSP blocks from foreign weapons to understand the algorithms utilized for tracking, guidance, and counter-countermeasures. The goal of this analysis will be to describe the threat capabilities and vulnerabilities against the U.S. systems that oppose it. Test benches will be developed to verify analysis and further characterize the signal processing chain. Weapon system instrumentation and testing will be supported for data collection purposes. Once analysis is complete, efforts will continue towards developing countermeasures for the threat system in order to ensure its defeat in combat.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or higher Science or Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Strong competency designing hardware using DSPs.
Strong competency using FPGAs for signal processing.
Strong competency constructing DSP algorithms for transformations, filtering, detection, and common signal processing techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL, area.
Experience in debugging of complex devices or systems using standard digital and analog test equipment is desired.
Experience working with general purpose microprocessors in a hands-on environment is desired.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
