Dynetics is seeking an embedded software/firmware engineer interested in working with software / firmware development for DoD and NASA projects. Candidate will design, develop and test firmware for custom and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf embedded microprocessors, FPGAs and other programmable components. Candidate must work well in a small, fast pace and mission driven environment. Will require innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills and adaptive thinking.
The candidate will be following processes that meet the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) model maturity level 3. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of existing and leading-edge tools to provide cost effective and timely solutions to our customer. The team consists of highly skilled professionals that have strong fundamental skills, exercise best practices, conduct peer reviews, and exceeds customer expectations.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree. A minimum of 5 years with a Bachelor's or 3 years with a Master's in software/firmware embedded development experience is required. Candidate must have experience in software development and demonstrate knowledge of Windows, Linux, C/C++ as well as data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit testing.
The position requires a self-disciplined individual with good people skills, writing skills, and strong technical interests/capabilities. This position requires periodic communication with the customer and possible travel to the customer location.
Knowledge and experience with a mid-level language such as C, C++, or Rust and familiarity with unit testing and data structures is preferred. Familiarity with microcontrollers and experience with researching and integrating peripherals into a system are considered a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
