Dynetics, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Embedded Electronics Design Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
This position will involve embedded microcontroller and FPGA-based system designs primarily for military applications. Work duties include detail electrical design, schematic design/capture, board level testing/debugging, firmware design/coding, system level integration/testing, and engineering documentation. Systems under design incorporate a combination of skillsets spanning digital, analog, mixed-signal, optical and RF applications. This position will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on embedded products for volume manufacturing. The position will include significant interaction with other design engineers, project managers, technicians, circuit board layout personnel, and manufacturing personnel.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Candidate must be a US citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area (or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area). Minimum of 5 years’ experience in embedded systems hardware and firmware design. Experience with checkout, debug and troubleshooting of electronic circuit board assemblies is required.
Familiarity or experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Real-time embedded microcontroller firmware and/or VHDL
- Interfacing to sensors and high speed mixed-signal components
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Experience in a volume product environment
- Product transition from prototype to volume production
- Mentor Graphics DxDesigner schematic capture software
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
