Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Avionics Product group Department Manager to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Dynetics is seeking an experienced individual to join a diverse team to assist in managing, developing, and manufacturing avionics equipment.

The individual filling this position will work with a wide spectrum of personnel including executive leadership, program managers, chief engineers, and production managers on various avionic system development, production, and sustainment programs.

· Collaborates across Leidos groups in the development, pursuit, and execution of Avionic Product business

· Cultivates and continually strengthens existing customer relationships while working to develop new relationships to grow our customer-base

· Continually develops the talent and capabilities of the team to meet the growing demands of our customers and the accelerating pace of technology change

Basic Qualifications

BS degree from an ABET accredited school in Engineering or related technical field

Candidates must have at least 15 years-experience in Avionic systems development, sustainment and/or manufacturing with a thorough understanding of DOD acquisition processes and methods. Civil service or military experience with Avionic system acquisition experience is highly desired.

Candidate must have strong leadership credentials, good organizational skills, attention to detail and work well as a key member of a team often tasked to be highly responsive and agile in order to satisfy critical warfighter needs.

The candidate must have experience in the following areas:

  • Organization and management of a highly technical engineering and analysis staff.
  • Avionic products technology areas including, power, G&C, propulsion, telemetry, and instrumentation.
  • Flight system analysis including 6-DOF trajectory development, signatures, stress, thermal, loads and flight dynamics.

Travel expectations for this position is less than 25 per cent.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Experience and demonstrated skill in proposal development is desired.

Strong verbal and written skills along with a solid practical knowledge of avionic systems is highly desired.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
