Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented, self-motivated Senior Software Safety Engineer to join a multi-discipline engineering team. With offices across the Unites States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assign the Software Criticality Index required to design, develop and maintain mission-critical software in support of unmanned systems and intelligence gathering products for ground based systems
• Determine the Development Assurance Level (DAL) for each software component developed in support of unmanned systems and intelligence gathering products for ground based systems
• Participate in laboratory, ground and flight testing to validate software
• Document and communicate software safety considerations as part of an integrated, cross-functional engineering team in a fast-paced highly technical environment
• Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skillsets
• Create software solutions that meet FACE 3.0 and UCS version 3.4 conformance
• Contribute to investments and research that fuel innovation and technological advancements

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or software engineering and at least four (4) years prior relevant experience in software safety efforts.

Candidate must have experience programming in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, or C#.

Candidate must have experience in embedded avionics software development.

Candidate must have experience with the Agile software development process IAW USG defined requirements.

Candidate must have experience with MIL-STD 882E and/or DO-178C.

Candidate must have experience with data modeling and other MBSE tools/techniques.

Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.

Candidate must have the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Candidate must have the ability to convey technical ideas in a clear, logical fashion.

Candidate must have the ability to translate highly technical discussions into executable plans.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

Other Qualifications

Preference will be shown to candidates with prior experience in system integration and field testing activities.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
