Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented junior to mid level Software Developer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.
The position involves joining a team whose responsibility is to create software that enables training our USAF service personnel to operate a Global Hawk (GH) on a Weapon System Trainer (WST) using modernized ground segment control capabilities. Direct communications with customers, end users, and team members occur on a regular basis.
The team consists of exceptionally talented software engineers and developers with strong fundamental skills that collaborate in high-performance fashion to achieve challenging objectives. The team follows Agile software development practices, shares a passion for solving complex problems, delivering exceptional software, improving software development processes, and exceeding customer expectations.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. A candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience; a candidate with a Master’s Degree does not require relevant work experience, but must demonstrate applicable acquired capabilities/skills through graduate education.
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of C#, .NET, C++, or Java, as well as data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit and software integration testing.
Candidate must have experience developing and/or integrating distributed system software components with an understanding of network protocols, concurrency, and asynchronous communication.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville / North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate possessing only a Bachelor's Degree in aforemented education disciplines is preferred to have 5 years of relevant work experience. Candidate also possessing a Master’s Degree in aforementioned education disciplines is preferred to have 3 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following are a plus:
- Agile software methodologies (e.g., Scrum and SAFe©)
- .NET technologies, such as WCF and/or WPF
- Code coverage tools
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- Atlassian software suite
- Git and Azure DevOps Server
- Modeling and simulation
- Reverse engineering and debugging
- Design patterns
- Socket-based communication protocols (e.g., DIS, CIGI)
Examples of programming completed as part of the candidate’s undergraduate or graduate degree program, or as developed and maintained for hobby/recreational purposes, are highly desired for review and evaluation (e.g., links to personal GitHub account are acceptable).
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
