Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a modeling and simulation engineer or scientist for the Sensor Systems Analysis and Engineering (SSAE) Department. The candidate will join a diverse team primarily focused on electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) modeling and simulation (M&S) efforts. The ideal engineer/scientist candidate will also demonstrate experience in and/or enthusiasm toward developing a broader technical capability to support overlapping engineering and scientific disciplines. Candidate will be required to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute in a team environment, and communicate effectively to management, coworkers, and customers.
Candidate may work closely with a team of engineers and scientists to create mechanical models and meshes to solve problems in a variety of disciplines including EO/IR and SAR (synthetic aperture radar) target modeling, image processing, data analysis, and ongoing M&S efforts. Projects will range from generating meshes for RCS models to generating CAD models for EO/IR applications to scientific analysis using a variety of modeling and scripting tools. An ability to quickly learn, read, and interact with new tools as required to complete tasks is also a job requirement.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in an engineering or equivalent science degree and demonstrate an aptitude for mechanical mesh generation.
Candidates with any range of work experience will be considered to include new graduates. For junior candidates without sufficient mitigating work experience, preference will be given to those with GPAs higher than 3.5.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
In addition to the qualifications listed above, the ideal candidate should be highly organized, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks and communicate effectively as required.
Preference will be shown to qualified candidates who currently hold an active Secret clearance.
Preference will be given to candidates having experience with SolidWorks, Creo, Cubit, Blender, ModelMan, NX, MATLAB or Python.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
