Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Application Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Application Engineer in this role will work with automotive customers, as well as with Dynetics team members to develop and support Dynetics automotive test products used in facilities across the United States and some international locations. Candidate will develop, maintain, and support software applications running in production-critical environments. This position requires an understanding of basic hardware interfacing, as well as the ability to assist troubleshooting system problems remotely. Skills used to perform this work include software programming, computer networking and networking related concepts, and hardware interfaces. Internet software development or databases skills are desirable.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automotive Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of C++/C#, Windows Forms and event-driven applications.

Candidate must have experience with Visual Studio (preferably experience with debugging applications).

Candidate must have an understanding of basic networking (TCP/IP, UDP, FTP).

Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with customers and field engineering personnel.

The position requires supporting production-critical systems in multiple locations both during and after normal working hours.

Travel is required, typically no more than 25% (one week per month).

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the Madison County, Mississippi area or willing to relocate to the Canton/Jackson, Mississippi area.


Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • Internet software development or databases skills
  • Developing and maintaining object-oriented, reusable software
