The Strategic Programs office of Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a qualified Chief Engineer for its High Energy Laser program. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and oversight to the IFPC HEL system development program for the RCCTO. The candidate will be the technical conscience of the program, working directly with the Program Manager to ensure proper execution and product delivery for Dynetics. The selected candidate will interface with and lead all major technical disciplines of the program, providing leadership for the entire system design, test, deployment and sustainment life cycle. The candidate will need experience in all aspects of DoD systems, including modeling, system architecture, requirements development, design, integration, test, production and sustainment. The candidate will lead a multi-disciplined team within Dynetics, and will also support major strategic pursuits within the organization. The candidate will perform both technical and programmatic oversight duties.
Candidate will collaborate across multiple disciplines to include systems, mechanical, electrical, software, modeling, simulation, safety, and reliability to allow for a cohesive, productive team in a fast-paced and evolving market area. Specific job responsibilities are describe below:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required.
Candidate should have at least 10+ years of DoD weapon system development relevant experience.
The following skills/abilities are desired:
· Master’s degree in an Engineering field is desired
· Experience on platform integration efforts with an emphasis in system integration and testing with a focus to get the product to the field
· Demonstrated understanding of high energy laser system designs, beam control system designs, dependencies between both and effects trades have on other various systems within a larger laser weapon system
· Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
· Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to deliver results in a team environment and independently
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Applicant must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidate must have good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, design engineers, analysts, manufacturing, quality, configuration management, and project management and customer representatives.
Experience with project planning and scheduling using Microsoft Project is preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
