Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Compensation Specialist to join a diverse, highly-skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving US weapon systems and training devices. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective intelligence, engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Compensation Specialist will support development, implementation and administration of the company’s compensation program, incentive plans and systems. The incumbent will also assist with job descriptions, job classifications and benchmark compensation.

  • Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plans.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to compensation
  • Prepare and maintain detailed job descriptions and classifications systems and defines job levels and families, in partnership with other managers.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, and associated analysis.
  • Ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy.
  • Consult with Recruiters, and Managers in all things compensation, make compensation recommendations, and resolve compensation issues using a data-driven approach.
  • Key player in our annual compensation programs (merit, promotions, & bonus administration).
  • Analyze market data to assess competitiveness on cash, incentive, and equity programs.
  • Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plans.
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements of all relevant government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration with 5+ years of experience in the area of compensation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel in order to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Must illustrate attention to detail, analytical skills and consistent follow through
  • Basic knowledge of the structure of databases such as researching what data is stored, how data is organized, and how to find and retrieve data
  • Experience communicating confidently and accurately with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience being team oriented, dependable and flexible with a high work ethic
  • Experience using problem solving skills to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a position requiring handling multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • General knowledge of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) systems
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent research skills
  • Experience in a position exercising independent judgment and decision making
  • Must have knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional certification preferred
  • Deltek Costpoint  knowledge is preferred
  • Experience administrating enterprise level compensation and incentive programs is preferred

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
