Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Software Safety Engineer to participate in various commercial, NASA, and defense projects. Individuals with previous software safety experience are preferred. Individuals with a strong software engineering background on mission or safety critical projects will also be considered, with on-the-job training provided by a Dynetics Senior Software Safety engineer.
This position will assure the safety of various programs to NASA software safety standards or defense software safety standards. Tasks include: developing software safety plans and standards, working with the customer system safety and software safety organizations, working with system safety to analyze systems for hazards, developing software safety requirements, ensuring the software safety requirements are implemented and tested in the software systems, working with suppliers to ensure supplier products and processes meet program software safety standards, and generating software assessment reports.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidate must have 10+ years of relevant technical experience with a BS degree or 8+ years of experience with a MS degree.
Proven experience with software safety standards including NASA Standards NASA-STD-8719.13C, NASA-STD-8739.8, NPR 7150.2C, NASA-HDBK-4008, MIL-STD-882E, AMCOM-385-17, MIL_HDK-516B, RTCA DO-178C, or ISO 26262.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
