The Software Engineer will join a team that is designing, testing, and integrating software to monitor and control a missile launching system for missile and UAS defensive applications. The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver launcher systems that will be fielded to protect our troops and facilities for years to come.
The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be a motivated independent learner.
The candidate must be highly organized with a strong technical background.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
Candidate must have 5 to 10 years of experience working within a highly technical software development project-oriented environment.
Candidate must have experience in analyzing and developing requirements, designing and maintaining software products, and implementing software designs.
Candidate must have experience with peer reviews, automated testing, and document generation.
Candidate must demonstrate strong competency in software development in C/C++.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively collaborating within a team environment.
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:
Large DoD programs, especially in the missile defense arena
Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Networking topics such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, switching, routing, and network virtualization.
Working in a Classified environment
Ability to develop and operate effectively in a Linux environment. This includes familiarity with operating system concepts such as thread management, scheduling and concurrency as well as a general understanding of memory management, inter-process communication, I/O management (e.g. device drivers) and virtualization.
Knowledge of additional programming languages (QT, Python, C#, LabView)
Linux Builds Systems (Buildroot, Make)
Linux System Administration
Containerization (Docker, chroot)
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
