Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a highly talented Radar Software Analyst to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Radar Software Analyst will use commercial and custom methods to retrieve software from threat weapons of interest, disassemble machine code, decompile C programs, and reverse-engineer assembly code on a line-by-line basis. This work includes developing custom hardware techniques, as well as custom software to aid and automate the reverse-engineering of various types of software binaries. This position will also have responsibility for analysis of tracking, guidance, and counter-countermeasure algorithms contained within missile and radar systems. The goal of this analysis will be to describe the threat capabilities and vulnerabilities against the U.S. systems that oppose it. Test benches will be developed to verify analysis and further characterize the signal processing chain. Weapon system instrumentation and testing will be supported for data collection purposes. Once analysis is complete, efforts will continue towards developing countermeasures for the threat system in order to ensure its defeat in combat.
Radar/weapons systems analysis includes probability of detection, waveform analysis, probability of intercept, defended area, etc. Algorithm analysis includes detection processes, waveform selection, signal processing, clutter and EA mitigation, beamforming, target identification, etc. RF hardware includes transmitters, exciters, antennas, multi-channel receivers, high-bandwidth receivers, SOTA processors, and RF lab equipment.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or higher Science or Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.3 or higher GPA.
Candidate must demonstrate:
Understanding of various processor and computer architectures.
Experience with software development tools.
Competency using C++/C and assembly languages.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL, area.
The following experience is desirable:
Education or work experience in software design.
Experience in debugging of complex devices or systems using standard digital and analog test equipment.
Experience with hardware protocol analysis and digital signal processing.
Education with missiles or radars.
Experience with Ghidra and IDA Pro.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
