Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Electro-optical and Infrared (EO/IR) Sensor Engineer/Scientist to provide unique solutions to advanced Threat EO/IR Sensor modeling, simulation, and analysis challenges facing the Intelligence Community. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Dynetics' Threat Intelligence and Exploitation Department is seeking EO/IR Engineer or Scientist to support the United States Intelligence Community. The job duties will include analysis of EO/IR threat systems (ultraviolet through longwave infrared wavebands) to support assessments for signal processing, tracking, guidance, detection, and overall system performance. The engineer or scientist in this role will also partner with a technically diverse team to design, implement, and maintain advanced Threat Sensor System software models and simulations. Furthermore, models are integrated and maintained in multidisciplinary simulations for use in analyzing the capability of these threat systems within complex environments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's (or Master's) Degree from an ABET accredited school in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Math, or an equivalent degree with 5+ years of applicable experience in EO/IR systems analysis, design, and modeling and simulation.
  • Programming skills in C/C++ and/or Matlab
  • Understanding of advanced EO/IR environments phenomenology, to include industry standard tools to represent these effects is particularly desirable.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Possess an active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher
  • Skills, interests, and relevant experience in realizing practical EO/IR designs and behaviors in software
  • Strong documentation skills

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
