Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Software Developer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Junior Software Developer in this role will develop and/or integrate innovative radar system software utilizing advanced high-performance computing hardware and open-source software toolsets. Developer activities may include, but are not limited to, GPU-based digital signal generation/processing, real-time radar modeling and simulation, distributed radar back-end development/integration, and radar hardware virtualization/emulation.
The developer will be a part of a small, highly technical, and collaborative team leveraging modern software development methods in a DevOps environment. The developer should be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment, be a motivated self-starter, and an independent learner.
Some limited travel and field test support may be required.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of concepts including object-oriented design, data structures, parallel algorithm development, distributed architecture development, and networking.
Candidates should have 0 to 5 years of experience working within a highly technical software development project-oriented environment.
Candidates must demonstrate strong competency in C/C++ software development in a Linux environment using open-source tools.
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidates must have good verbal, written, and visual communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:
· Open Source Development Tools (GCC, CMake, Git, etc.)
· Message-Oriented Middleware (DDS, HLA, ZeroMQ, etc.)
· Data Serialization Formats (Flatbuffers, Protocol Buffers, JSON, etc.)
· GPU Programming (OpenCL, CUDA)
· Virtualization Software (VMWare, VirtualBox, KVM/QEMU, etc.)
· Container Software (Docker, PodMan, etc.)
Experience with any of the following domains is a plus:
· Radar Systems
· Air and Missile Defense Systems
· Modeling & Simulation
· Open Architecture Development
· High Performance Computing
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
