Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a User Experience (UX) / Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) Usability Research & Evaluation Specialist. This position will ensure a clear understanding of the goals and objectives for creating and conducting usability research projects by preparing tasking and scenarios, interactive user interface (UI) prototypes, project plans, study plans, moderator guides, and other artifacts related to designing and structuring user studies. In addition to creating and facilitating user studies, the candidate will moderate user interviews, create personas and journey maps, conduct heuristic evaluations and cognitive task analyses, perform statistical and qualitative analysis, and blend findings into formal reports to provide recommendations, digestible insights, user requirements, and user flows.
Bachelor’s degree in Usability Engineering, Human Factors, Systems Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Engineering, or an adjacent field of study with a concentration in human factors. Graduate degree preferred.
Experience with Human-Centric Design / User-Centered Design methods and user experience research methodologies such as usability testing, customer interviews, task analysis, and surveys.
Experience in taking notional concepts and generating low- to high-fidelity software prototypes to be used in usability evaluations.
Proactive attitude with strong project management skills and the ability to clearly communicate research findings through written reports and oral presentations.
This is a customer-facing role, requiring excellent communication skills, initiative, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Candidate must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time to remote locations across the U.S.
Military or DoD experience and familiarity with air missile defense systems is a plus.
Strong skills in user interface design fundamentals such as knowledge of composition, form, shape, color, layout, and typography is a plus.
Deep knowledge of an array of user research methodologies and proficiency with industry-standard design, prototyping, and user testing instrumentation and tools. Experience with eye-tracking and other biosensors is a plus.
Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills.
Desire to bring creativity and drive to the usability research process.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
