Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Senior Manager – Production Engineering to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, aerospace, cyber, space and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position will be the functional lead for Manufacturing Engineering to support multiple manufacturing sites with responsibility for manufacturing engineering teams, processes, and tools for Dynetics manufacturing. This leader will coordinate with the plants on technical resource needs and identification of gaps providing assessments along with implementation of solutions. This leader will drive functional excellence and standardization across all the plants through documentation of manufacturing functional processes to optimize productivity.

The Senior Manager – Production Engineering will also lead and/or provide critical input in formulating manufacturing strategies, building manufacturing engineering teams, and driving engineering standards throughout the sites. Key responsibilities will include the following:

• Leading or assisting with the development or management of technical capabilities, process roadmaps, and manufacturing strategies to meet key customer requirements supporting both internal and external customers.
• Assist in establishing business rhythm elements for manufacturing engineering support at all locations to ensure ability to meet customer requirements with processes, layouts, tools, capability analysis, capacity evaluation, and staffing considerations are defined and available on-time.
• Ability to implement efficient manufacturing processes to ensuring that Quality and Compliance standards are met for all products.
• Strong personnel, planning, and project management skills
• Ability to effectively team and communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and problem solving through sharing of best practices within all manufacturing sites.
• Support and/or writing proposals to support business development opportunities.

The candidate selected for this position will lead a technical functional team that will support the execution of multiple simultaneous and diverse manufacturing activities. This will be a dynamic environment and a high growth area.

Basic Qualifications

BS in engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 15+ years of experience,

OR

Masters in technical or business discipline with 10+ years of experience.

Candidate must have experience in leadership of manufacturing engineering functional support teams for Defense, Aerospace, Space or Commercial projects with an understanding of manufacturing engineering and quality requirements for such projects.

Technical experience in the creation of manufacturing strategies including make/buy decisions, equipment requirements, process definition, work area layout, tooling requirements, takt time evaluation, and capacity planning.

Ability to effectively work across multiple teams to drive manufacturing excellence across plants.

Candidate must have personnel management or organizational leadership experience, including interviewing, assessing, and hiring new personnel.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

• Led cross-functional team with emphasis on timely, high quality manufacturing engineering support while optimizing resources
• Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles, manufacturing metrics, and continuous improvement
• Experience managing deployed resources across various sites to support all manufacturing sites.
• Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software
• Familiarity with Solumina MES software
• Familiarity with Agile PLM engineering design data management software is a plus
• Experience with AS9100, IPC, and DCMA standards
• Strong background in the Aerospace Industry

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
