Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Junior Electrical Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.  With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced electrical/electronic products and systems. The selected candidate will support the design of test hardware/equipment, the selection of specialized test aids, and the development of related test plans, procedures/methods, and tools to execute verification of electronic devices implemented in electrical subsystems of complex defense and space systems.  Specific duties may encompass analog/digital circuit design, working with software running on a real-time operating system, utilizing LabVIEW on test equipment, and/or supporting design for hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) equipment.  The selected candidate will also engage with multiple collaborating groups as necessary for manufacturing activities, other engineering domain design and development efforts, procurement, logistics, quality, and safety.

The individual must be a self-starter with experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with electrical/electronic instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
  • Candidate must possess familiarity with developing, maintaining, and/or working with electrical schematics and cable/wiring diagrams.
  • Candidate must have experience with ECAD toolchains.
  • Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
  • Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

Preference shown to candidates who have 2+ years experience in electronics design, including digital/analog/mixed signal electronics, components, and interface/communication standards.

Preference shown to candidates who have experience with and/or working knowledge of:

  • Software programming/coding skills
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop laboratories
  • LabVIEW
  • Mentor Graphics electrical engineering development tools
  • Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Network engineering and analysis
  • Specialized simulators and/or emulators

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
