Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking talented 2nd shift Lead Machinist to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The 2nd shift Lead Machinist must be capable of reading engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique precision parts. Ideal candidate should also have experience in setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes. Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium, is a plus. 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience is a plus. Applicant must be able to work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced R&D environment with little or no assistance. As a lead machinist, the applicant must be able to work well with other team members and have the technical ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems that arise with machining complicated aerospace parts.
 

Basic Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Candidates must have at least one (1) year of machine tool technology and/or credentials verifying formal training in machining technology.
• Candidates must have at least three (3) years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Candidate must be able to work 2nd shift with work hours from 4:00pm-2:30am.
• Candidate must be able to work a 4-days per week, 10-hours per shift work schedule (4/10 Plan) and overtime as needed.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
 

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

• 5 axis machining experience with Siemens 840D controls
• (2) two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool
• SURFCAM, Edgecam or Catia experience
• Experience machining in a proto type enviroment
• Previous leadership experience
   

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
