Position Description

Dynetics, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position will perform engineering tasks in a dynamic environment to develop and test a variety of products in support of Military SATCOM and commercial programs. Candidate will work closely with PM, Senior Engineers, supported customers, and design teams to develop products following the systems engineering lifecycle. Candidate will be responsible for defining requirements, supporting the system architecture definition & design development and the validation & integration for hardware and software products.

Candidate will collaborate across multiple disciplines to include mechanical, electrical, software, modeling, simulation, safety, and reliability to identify applicable requirements and then ensure the requirements are met while avoiding requirements creep.

The team consists of highly skilled developers with strong fundamental skills that value utilizing new technologies, identifying best practices, exercising peer reviews, and exceeding our customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess experience and skills in system-of-systems engineering for requirements, design, documentation, test development, and management necessary for the implementation of hardware and software integration of mobile SATCOM systems.

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree, with 5-10 years’ experience, in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge of related disciplines such as software, mechanical, and life cycle logistics.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems independently with minor direction, have strong organizational skills, and a strong work ethic to coordinate team-tasking while concurrently and independently self-tasking.
  • Attention to detail, along with the ability to develop clear and concise engineering reports using various tools and techniques to analyze information and present the results.

Candidate must be a resident of the Colorado Springs area or be willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs, Colorado area.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary  range for this role is $90,000- 130,000/yr; however, Dynetics considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Other Qualifications

Additional qualifications that will be considered are:

  • Knowledge and experience with MATLAB, SolidWorks, Visio, CMMI, Agile, Scrum, Unit testing and code coverage tools, Microsoft Visual Studio, Atlassian software suite, Modeling tools, and Design patterns.
  • Basic understanding of Military testing processes.
  • Experience with Agile development processes.
  • DAWIA Engineering Level 2 certified or other equivalent.
  • DAWIA Information Technology Level 2 certified or other equivalent.
  • DAWIA Test & Evaluation Level 2 certified or other equivalent.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance.
