Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
This role will impact multiple projects and efforts and requires a self-directed problem solver with good team-building and mentoring skills. We are a small group of motivated, technical workers who thrive on collaboration and a collegial and productive atmosphere. The work includes both maintenance and feature development for internally developed tools and identification of opportunities to improve and innovate. Leadership and mentoring abilities are absolutely necessary for this role.
What you will be working on:
In your first six months, you will be getting required clearances and working in a lab which collects data from our own hardware for processing and storage. You will be learning about and eventually maintaining Python, Java, and C++ tools and services on a Linux system, and you will help develop and implement algorithms and techniques to increase data throughput, speed, and accuracy. You will also be getting to know your multi-discipline team and their strengths, engaging in Agile Scrum ceremonies, and learning about our multiple end products.
After you are acclimatized and as you get your clearances, you will be encouraged to submit your ideas for refinements and innovations and implement them with your team. You will have the freedom to investigate options, choose tools, and learn new technologies and skills. You will be involved in all phases of the feasibility assessment, design, and implementation of your ideas. You may be invited to participate on other projects part-time, providing you with opportunities for task variety and expansion of your skill set. Our final product is important, technically interesting, and has a long-term future.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
