Position Description

Dynetics, a Leidos company, is seeking a talented Information Assurance Professional (IAP) to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The qualified candidate will serve as an Information Assurance professional within an established Information Security team providing security solutions to optimize performance and ensure security measures are optimized with a compliance or risk-based focus. This position is non-supervisory and will report to the Huntsville Information System Security Manager (ISSM). Candidate must be highly organized and self-motivated with excellent documentation skills and the ability to work independently, prioritize, schedule, and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

The Information Assurance Professional's primary duties will consist of a combination of duties to protect information and assist in managing security controls and risks related to the use of processing, storing, or transmitting information within an Information System.

  • Validate security policies and procedures outlined in the System Security Plan.
  • Take corrective action to resolve problems identified and ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct vulnerability management (scanning, assessment, reporting, and mitigation verification), security reviews and tests of systems to verify security features and controls are functional and effective.
  • Assist ISSOs in performing non-auditing Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) activities as required by frequency. The IAP will have full administrator rights on systems to assist with ConMon.
  • Testing/evaluation and application of required technical security controls including performing certification tests and periodic inspections of information systems.
  • Assisting with classified spills/incident response or other security-related incidents.

Basic Qualifications

Position will require Associates degree (minimum), Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Information Systems Management or Cybersecurity related discipline, with a minimum of 4 years of direct information assurance experience.

Possess a current DoD 8570.01 compliant certification for IAM Level II, e.g. Security + w/CE, or the ability to obtain either within 6 months of employment.

Candidate must demonstrate experience interpreting and applying government security regulations such as NISPOM, JSIG, ICDs to information systems while performing basic troubleshooting methods, risk management, and information system security principles on a routine basis.

Experience with DoD implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and governing directives (NIST, CNSS, DSS, etc.)

Vulnerability assessment and analysis experience utilizing SCAP, ACAS/NESSUS and DISA STIGs

Experience with security configurations across multiple operating systems in various environments, to include Windows, Linux, UNIX, utilizing Active Directory/Group Policy, Centrify, etc. is required.

Other Qualifications

Candidate must be highly organized and self-motivated with excellent documentation skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Candidate should be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members at all levels.

Basic understanding of networking principles.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance is required for consideration.
