The Electrical and Software Engineer will perform technical oversight tasks in the conduct and execution of field test and evaluation activities pertaining to aircraft survivability systems, countermeasures/counter-countermeasures, directed energy (DE) and electro-optical guided weapon systems and subsystems and any emerging technology areas. This candidate will also analyze the requirements of upcoming field tests and make recommendations on equipment upgrades regarding both hardware and software needs in order to properly support testing to meet objectives.
The candidate will engage in the execution of countermeasures/counter-countermeasures testing of a wide variety of complex military aircraft survivability equipment systems, directed energy (DE), electro-optical precision-guided weapons systems and the overall readiness of the facilities and instrumentation needed for the testing work. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor test facilities and test ranges with extensive safety precautions. The candidate will be required to evaluate system performance and implement safety practices through SSP, SOP, trainings and guidelines.
The candidate will design, modify, fabricate, and develop test software/code and hardware using original, innovative approaches in the rapidly expanding, sensitive field of sophisticated electro-optics technology. The candidate will design, modify, or recommend the implementation of substantially improved or extensively modified countermeasure/counter-countermeasure devices, instrumentation, hardware, software, and test equipment. Equipment/systems modified or developed range in complexity from commercial items to unique, complex, electronic signal detection, monitoring, processing, and analysis systems. The candidate will make recommendations, perform technical evaluations, and participate in major modifications and expansions of field test capabilities. The candidate will perform operation and maintenance activities on the organization's test and evaluation systems to ensure high reliability and availability is achieved to meet DoD Test and Evaluation requirements.
The candidate will work with a team on implementing Risk Management Framework (RMF) practices to provide a set of standards that enable the agency to effectively manage cybersecurity risk and make more informed, risk-based decisions. The candidate will assist the RMF team in addressing system software, programming, and hardware requirements of the CCM current and upcoming systems.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or higher Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
